Solid Music Foundation Course For Children (4-7 years old) Level 1

9 Lessons Easy

About this course

Dear Parents,

Music education, like all other areas of education, influences the child's general development. Music lessons, through songs and games, have a complex effect on the emotions of the child. One effect is that the child becomes emotionally balanced as he/she is relieved of internal tension. Listening to music can also influence the child's mood in a variety of ways. A song can generate different moods through which the child's emotional world becomes richer and deeper. Through games, children learn without embarrassment - to express their feelings using mime and gestures. Thus, each child's self-confidence is strengthened.

" To be concerned with kindergarten and its music is not a minor pedagogical matter, but the very building of a nation." - Zoltan Koday

This course aims to not only help our students develop the essential skills in music, but also develop skills they can use in other areas of their lives.

Each lesson in this course consists of a variety of familiar and unfamiliar songs and rhymes, a video guide, a number of learning tips and interactive activities! A downloadable PDF booklet is provided for offline learning and practice in some of the lessons.

Children are greatly encouraged to sing the songs regularly and do the recommended activities to build strong musicianship skills which they can use once they start learning another musical instrument such as the piano or violin, and others.

Video and audio recordings of the children singing the songs, chanting the rhymes and moving to the songs are very much welcome. Parents may email in their children's audio or video recordings to brightkidzsongs@gmail.com for assessment/feedback. Please feel free to leave a comment and/or send an email too if you have any questions.

Assessment Worksheet

Dear Parents,

Though simple and short, this assessment is important in order for me to gauge if your children are able to follow the lessons. Depending on their responses, I can then make any necessary adjustments to the lessons to ensure that everyone benefits the most out of the lesson videos I prepare. Early childhood music education  holds a special place in my heart, and though I spend many, many hours preparing for what seems to be very short videos (a 4-minute video takes me at least 5 hours to make), I don't mind as long as I know that the children are getting the most out of it.

Thank you once again for working hand-in-hand with the school teachers to help the children succeed in their academic and creative endeavours!

Best wishes,

Sharon
